Here in Ladywood Constituency councillors know that public services are better and more relevant to local people when people making decisions are closer to the people affected by those decisions. It is amazing that those with real power in the City Council – Cabinet members and senior officers, have little or no contact with the people they supposedly serve.

Ladywood and Perry Barr youth forum take part in a European Youth Parliament in Venice.

In 2008 a project called ‘Be part of It’ was launched the project would consist of 10 different European countries each with a group of 10 young people.

The idea is that each group within each country, would research 3 issues in relation to there country. These were; Addiction and health, Immigration migration and environment.

We plan to organise a launch day to show case the creation of the

Perry Barr and Ladywood Constituency Youth Forum Members.

During September all 12 Cabinet members and the prime minister came to Birmingham for a public meeting, Local businesses and young people were invited and voiced their concerns about birmingham.
